JULY 25, 2015 BENNETT COLLEGE, GREENSBORO, NC REGISTER NOW
This is our time to come together, network, learn new strategies, get briefed on critical issues, and create a plan to work together with other predominantly women’s organizations to educate women on issues important to them and their families and share our resources to get out the female vote. There are important elections coming up this Fall at the local and county level. We also need to begin to plan for the all-important 2016 elections when we will elect a President, Governor, and US Senator.
The key to women having an impact on the outcome of these races and the policies set by our elected leaders is to work together, share resources, and collaborate at the local/county/regional level. The focus of Bennett IV will be on collaboration – how we can maximize our strengths to assure that women’s voices are heard.
In addition to training on effective collaboration, we will have issue briefs on important topics like pay equity and paid leave, the status of ERA on North Carolina, undocumented immigrant issues, voting rights and challenges, the student debt crisis, and reproductive justice/domestic violence/sexual abuse.
A certain highlight of the day will be a keynote presentation by dream hampton, nationally known, award winning writer, film maker, and social justice organizer. She will be speaking to the topic: 21st Century Activism – New Media and New Narratives.
Check-in will begin at 8:30 with a continental breakfast. The program will begin at 9:00 sharp and will conclude no later than 4:30. Lunch will be served. There will be a $10 registration fee per participant. Registration is open now. To register click here:
